{"id":104864,"date":"2023-03-30T10:31:02","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T09:31:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beta-ukri.msappproxy.net\/?page_id=104864"},"modified":"2025-04-01T09:05:48","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T08:05:48","slug":"responsive-mode-opportunities-funding-service-core-application-section-questions-and-assessment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/apply-for-funding\/develop-your-application\/responsive-mode-opportunities-funding-service-core-application-section-questions-and-assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"Applicant-led opportunities in the Funding Service: core application section questions and assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These sections are used as the main core for all applicant-led applications in the Funding Service:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>vision<\/li>\n<li>approach<\/li>\n<li>applicant and team capability to deliver<\/li>\n<li>resources and cost justification<\/li>\n<li>ethics and responsible research innovation (RRI)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Completing the core sections and questions<\/h3>\n<p>In each section, applicants are asked a question and then given the criteria that the assessors will be looking for in their response.<\/p>\n<p>Most questions can be answered using a text box in the section.<\/p>\n<p>For some opportunities, currently the \u2018vision\u2019 and \u2018approach\u2019\u2019 sections are completed by uploading a single PDF file covering both questions. Over time we aim to reduce the number of attachments needed as part of the digital application process.<\/p>\n<h3>Additional information sections<\/h3>\n<p>Some opportunities will have additional mandatory sections that applicants complete to provide supporting information, such as the makeup of the team, summaries, and references.<\/p>\n<h3>Embedding impact in applications<\/h3>\n<p>Delivering societal, economic and environmental impact from public investment in research is a central goal for UK Research and Innovation.<\/p>\n<p>You should ensure that your submission addresses the impact of your research. This will be assessed in the following sections:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>vision<\/li>\n<li>approach<\/li>\n<li>resources and cost justification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Council-specific questions and assessment criteria<\/h3>\n<p>Some council opportunities will have additional questions that reflect their disciplinary specific requirements.
