{"id":175796,"date":"2025-10-06T14:55:22","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T13:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beta-ukri.msappproxy.net\/?page_id=175796"},"modified":"2025-10-16T10:56:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T09:56:11","slug":"visa-advisory-board","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/apply-for-funding\/getting-a-global-talent-visa-to-do-research-in-the-uk\/visa-advisory-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Visa advisory board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Visa advisory board has a remit of supporting both the Global Talent visa (GTV) and the Government Authorised Exchange (GAE) schemes run by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).<\/p>\n<p>The board provides advice and options on areas related to global mobility but does not make any binding decisions.<\/p>\n<p>The board:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>considers and advises UKRI on the\u202feligibility\u202fcriteria for the GTV and the GAE schemes operated by UKRI<\/li>\n<li>provides advice to and develops options for UKRI on the decision to accept or reject new\u202ffunders under the GTV, considering the criteria set by the Home Office in collaboration with UKRI<\/li>\n<li>engages with analysis of application and usage data of the GTV and GAE schemes and helps identify areas for development<\/li>\n<li>provides advice to UKRI on risk mitigation and contributes to assurance of the delivery of the GTV and GAE schemes<\/li>\n<li>provides advice and options on other decisions as requested by UKRI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Board members<\/h2>\n<p>The board consists of members from across the research sector, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GTV endorsing bodies<\/li>\n<li>GTV holders<\/li>\n<li>hosts of GTV holders<\/li>\n<li>GAE sponsor organisations<\/li>\n<li>research funders<\/li>\n<li>research institutes<\/li>\n<li>research-intensive businesses<\/li>\n<li>Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT)<\/li>\n<li>UK devolved administrations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The board meets twice a year.
