{"id":32126,"date":"2021-08-16T11:31:52","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T10:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beta-ukri.msappproxy.net\/?page_id=32126"},"modified":"2026-01-15T13:21:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T13:21:21","slug":"accepting-your-offer","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/manage-your-award\/accepting-your-offer\/","title":{"rendered":"Accepting your offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you accept your award you will need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>check the grant agreement<\/li>\n<li>check the details of the award match your application<\/li>\n<li>confirm you agree to any terms and conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Getting your offer<\/h2>\n<h3>In the Joint Electronic Submission (Je-S) system<\/h3>\n<p>We will send an email and offer document to the research development manager or officer through the Je-S system.<\/p>\n<p>To make any amendments you need to contact the research council providing the funding.<\/p>\n<p>The Je-S handbook tells you how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/je-s.rcuk.ac.uk\/Handbook\/index.htm#t=pages%2FOffer_Acceptance.htm\">accept an award\u202f<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/je-s.rcuk.ac.uk\/Handbook\/index.htm#t=pages%2FStart_Confirmation.htm\">submit the start confirmation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>In the UKRI Funding Service<\/h3>\n<p>We will email the administrator account holder at the lead organisation.<\/p>\n<p>If you are an administrator in the Funding Service you will be able to view:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a list of the awards for your organisation<\/li>\n<li>details of the grant holder<\/li>\n<li>status of the award<\/li>\n<li>any tasks due<\/li>\n<li>any sections which have been updated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can accept the grant agreement\u202for return an offer for amendment with comments.<\/p>\n<p>If you need to amend the start date accept the agreement and then request a change in start date. When you submit the start confirmation you can specify the project\u2019s actual start.<\/p>\n<p>You must tell us if the project lead is expected to change organisations while the award is still being set up so the award can be updated.<\/p>\n<p>Once an award is authorised by UKRI and sent to the research organisation for acceptance, it cannot be re-issued to a new organisation without going through the official transfer process, even if the award has been accepted but not yet started.<\/p>\n<p>There are two recordings to guide you through the process:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-G1-o9HC5DY\">Simpler and Better Funding webinar: introduction to accepting and managing awards (YouTube)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fl-We2jpcL4&amp;list=PLiewmEd0-UPB8Xb7E509IsHgIzhwksZyX&amp;index=22\">Respond to award offer: UKRI Funding Service training webinar (YouTube)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>In the Innovation Funding Service<\/h3>\n<p>There is a different way to\u202f<a href=\"\/councils\/innovate-uk\/guidance-for-applicants\/general-guidance\/what-happens-if-you-receive-a-funding-offer\/#contents-list\">accept your award if your project is funded by Innovate UK<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>When to accept your award<\/h2>\n<p>Unless the research council has issued a specific start date in the terms and conditions, the lead organisation or research development officer will have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10 working days to accept the award<\/li>\n<li>six months from the announced start date to start the award<\/li>\n<li>42 days from starting the award to submit the start confirmation form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We may withdraw the funding offer if project setup is not completed within these timescales or an alternative timeframe set by us.<\/p>\n<h2>Start your award<\/h2>\n<p>You need to confirm you have started your award and submit a start confirmation form.
