This improves transparency and enables further place-based analysis, while also strengthening the evidence base for alignment with government priorities.<\/p>\n<p>In this section you will find:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>longitudinal data on where and how much funding UKRI has invested, by financial year<\/li>\n<li>regional breakdowns of UKRI data<\/li>\n<li>data on research and innovation funding provided by national funding bodies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland<\/li>\n<li>contextual data by region and nation, including population, gross value added and the number of businesses and researchers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Throughout these reports, statistics are presented according to the Office for National Statistics&#8217; geocode standard of International Territorial Levels (ITLs).<\/p>\n<p>ITL areas correspond directly to EU&#8217;s Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics (NUTS), which were used in the UK until 2021.
