It\u2019s a good idea to do this if your research is interdisciplinary or not clearly within AHRC\u2019s research areas.<\/p>\n<p>You might also want to consider how your research contributes to <a href=\"\/councils\/ahrc\/remit-programmes-and-priorities\/our-research-portfolio-and-priorities\/\">AHRC\u2019s research portfolio and strategic priorities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If your research is not clearly within AHRC\u2019s remit, it might be more suitable for funding from <a href=\"\/councils\/\">another research council<\/a>, such as the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).<\/p>\n<p>AHRC and ESRC support different aspects of some research areas &#8211; for example, in gender studies and area studies.
